BACKLOG
After a long absence, I've decided to start up again - my first project will be transferring "blog posts" on Facebook over the past year to I Like To Watch. (I'll include original post dates.)
Technorati ProfileWhat's with this blog's name?
No, don't worry about inviting me to your next swingers get-together (though I'd appreciate the thought!) -- I'm actually referencing the film Being There. Peter Sellers plays Chance the Gardener, who turns the world on its head just by being himself -- which is really no one at all.
His famous line "I like to watch" is Chance in a nutshell. Numbly watching TV -- and real life -- is all Chance can do, having learned everything he knows about life from the boob tube.
The film is based on a short satirical novel written by Jerzy Kosinski 10 years earlier, in 1969. Though the movie is now almost 30 years old, it couldn't be more applicable to today's society.
Check out the Being There website I've listed below under Links I Like.
